Job summary

ECS4Kids is seeking an Assistant Cook to support the preparation, transport, and service of nutritious meals and snacks for children in Head Start settings across Georgia. You will help maintain clean, safe kitchen areas and assist with transporting food between sites while promoting healthy eating habits.

The role emphasizes following USDA/CACFP guidelines, contributing to a collaborative center environment, and supporting a range of duties from menu adherence to documentation and training

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 6 months of related food service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of USDA/CACFP meal patterns and food safety standards preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to transport food between sites required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in meal preparation and serving breakfast, lunch, and snacks.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas and equipment.
• Monitor inventory and assist with ordering of food and supplies.
• Document meals served, temperatures, and inventory for compliance.
• Safely transport prepared food between sites while preserving temperature.
• Collaborate with center staff and participate in trainings.
