Job summary

ECS4Kids in Georgia is seeking an Assistant Cook to support meal preparation, transportation, and service for Head Start programs. You will help maintain a clean, safe kitchen and contribute to healthy eating for children across centers.

Responsibilities include preparing meals, managing stock, and ensuring proper food handling and documentation, while collaborating with staff to meet program goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (implicit requirement for position).
• Knowledge of USDA/CACFP meal patterns and food safety preferred.
• Valid driver's license and ability to transport food between sites preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and serving meals to children according to menus and guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas and equipment.
• Monitor inventory and assist with ordering and receiving deliveries.
• Document meals served and temperatures; assist in inspections and corrective actions.
• Safely transport prepared food between sites and support staff as needed.
