Job summary

Brunswick County Department of Social Services seeks an Income Maintenance Caseworker II for the Childcare Assistance Program. You will interview customers, process applications, recertifications and changes to support families and childcare providers.

Must work with NC FAST, complete required trainings, and stay current with policy updates to ensure timely, accurate processing and compliance with state standards.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of NC FAST and related certifications.
• Ability to complete NC Fast Core Certifications and the SCCA certification.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• General computer knowledge and ability to learn multiple programs.
• Excellent customer service and strong communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and stay calm in a fast-paced setting.
• Ability to de-escalate upset customers and remain professional.
• Strong written, oral communication, financial, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Completing timely and accurate applications, recertifications, and changes.
• Completing NCFAST Tasks daily.
• Interview customers for childcare applications and/or recertifications.
• Address and respond to provider questions and financial over/underpayments.
• Entering data into NC FAST and county document management system.
• Attending training and staying updated on policy changes.
