Job summary

Sampson County DSS is seeking an Income Maintenance Caseworker to interview customers, verify information, determine eligibility and maintain records. The role requires strong computer skills and the ability to read and interpret policy and procedures within the NCFAST system.

Qualifications

  • One year of experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker I is required for an Income Maintenance Caseworker II.
  • Candidates may qualify for an Income Maintenance Caseworker I with a bachelor or associate degree in a related field, or with high school plus relevant experience.
  • DSS experience or willingness to obtain related credentials is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Interview customers, verify information, determine eligibility, and maintain records.
  • Make changes to records within a specialized automated system (NCFAST).
  • Read, analyze, and interpret rules, regulations, and procedures; communicate with clients and public officials to obtain data and explain requirements.
