Job summary

Navy Region Naval District Washington Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) seeks a CY Leader to provide direct care and instruction for children 6 weeks to 18 years, while guiding CY Program Assistants. You will mentor staff, plan activities, supervise daily routines, and ensure compliance with DoD standards.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate programs for 6 weeks to 18 years.
• Understanding of child and youth development principles and practices.
• Ability to train employees on recognizing childhood illnesses and safety.
• Ability to develop curriculum outlines and lesson plans.

Responsibilities

• Mentor CY Program Assistants and translate training into practice.
• Plan activities meeting physical, social, emotional, and cognitive needs.
• Supervise children and youth during daily activities and field trips.
• Communicate with parents, employees, and school staff.
• Assess developmental progression and document concerns.
• Ensure compliance with DoD and local standards.
