The Santa Barbara County Education Office is seeking an eligible Family Services Specialist to join our team. You will determine eligibility for subsidized child care programs, enroll families, and provide guidance and referrals to services.

You’ll collaborate with partner agencies, maintain records, and assist with outreach and program evaluations to ensure families receive timely support and compliant services.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Two years of clerical or direct service experience in human or social services.
• Knowledge of modern office practices and software.
• Ability to communicate effectively.”

Responsabilités

• Determine level of need, family income, and eligibility for subsidies; enrolls children and families into the program.
• Assist families in completing enrollment applications and prepare documentation.
• Apply family fees according to income level and family size; follow state fee schedules.
• Provide referrals to additional subsidies, services and supports; act as family advocate.
• Advise families on program requirements, procedures and obligations for subsidized child care.
• Maintain up-to-date client file data with partner agencies; verify information.
• Serve as point-of-contact for parents to arrange participation and verify compliance.
• Assist with program evaluations and internal audits of case files and providers.
• Prepare communications with families, including terminations as needed.
• Represent SBCEO at community outreach events to promote services.
• Perform other duties to support program objectives.
