Job summary

Santa Barbara County Education Office is seeking an Early Care and Education Case Worker to determine eligibility for subsidized programs and enroll eligible children and families. You will connect families to services and advocate on their behalf.

The role requires strong communication, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to work with partner agencies. A high school diploma and experience in human or social services are needed, with a pension-benefit program provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 12 semester units in business/public/non-profit administration; social sciences, human services, or related field preferred.
• Two years of clerical or direct service experience in human or social services.

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, determines families’ eligibility for subsidized child care programs and other Early Care and Education programs offered through the Santa Barbara County Education Office.
• Enrolls and registers eligible children and families and provides a wide range of services and support to program participants.
• Collaborates with supervisor, colleagues, and partner agencies, and represents SBCEO at community events.
