Job summary

Verustruct is seeking a Head of Engineering to lead the technical execution of robotic construction efforts. You will oversee mechanical, electrical, robotics, software, materials, structural, and manufacturing engineering, guiding programs from prototypes to repeatable field deployment.

The role combines organizational leadership with hands-on engineering work, driving architecture decisions, design reviews, and deployment strategies to deliver a cohesive construction system.

Qualifications

• Delivery of complex robotic systems from development to deployment (hands-on and leadership).
• 10+ years engineering leadership across multiple disciplines.
• Breadth to challenge interfaces across mechanical, electrical, controls, software, and manufacturing.
• Hands-on contributions: architecture decisions, design, integration, testing, or root-cause investigations.
• Experience managing engineers, hiring, and setting clear expectations.
• Strong systems engineering judgment: requirements, interfaces, verification, and risk handling.

Responsibilities

• Own the integrated engineering roadmap, milestones, and execution plan for Verustruct’s platform.
• Translate product and deployment goals into measurable system requirements and interfaces.
• Lead architecture and trade studies across disciplines for performance, safety, manufacturability, and cost.
• Establish clear technical ownership across teams and resolve dependencies early.
• Remain hands-on in critical design work, reviews, tests, and failure investigations.
• Build an integration and test strategy linking validation to field performance.
• Coordinate development with materials, structural, and construction requirements.
