Job summary

Verustruct in Torrance, CA, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to own the mechanical design of its robotic construction platform. You will collaborate with controls, electrical, materials, and structural teams to take subsystems from concept through CAD, prototyping, testing, and deployment.

You’ll build robust hardware, drive DFM and fabrication strategies, mentor junior engineers, and help define the mechanical architecture for a category-defining robotics company aimed at accelerating

Qualifications

• 7+ years in mechanical design for robotics or similar hardware.
• Proficient in Siemens NX or equivalent CAD.
• Hands-on prototyping, testing, and rapid iteration.
• Strong knowledge of mechanisms, structures, tolerances, and manufacturability.
• Experience with FEA, topology optimization, welded structures.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical subsystems for robotic construction equipment from concept through CAD and prototyping.
• Drive component selection, tolerance analysis, structural analysis, DFM, and fabrication strategy.
• Lead build, bring-up, testing, and iteration of prototype systems.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate hardware into a coordinated platform.
• Develop design standards and engineering workflows as the team grows.
• Mentor junior engineers and interns, setting the hardware development bar.
