Job summary

Verustruct is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design, build, and test the core robotic construction platform. You’ll contribute across CAD, analysis, and fabrication, owning subassemblies in Level II.

Expect hands-on prototyping, close collaboration with controls and electrical teams, and rapid iteration in a startup setting in Torrance, CA. You will advance from prototype to field deployment, with opportunities to lead mechanical engineering efforts in a venture-backed company focused on

Qualifications

• BS in mechanical engineering or closely related field.
• Strong fundamentals in statics, dynamics, materials, machine design.
• Experience designing mechanical systems in real-world projects.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop components and subsystems for robotic construction equipment.
• Create CAD models, drawings, BOMs, tolerances, and docs.
• Perform mechanical calculations and structural analyses.
• Select motors, actuators, bearings, fasteners, sensors, and components.
• Fabricate and assemble hardware with internal/external resources.
• Assemble, commission, and test prototype hardware.
• Develop test fixtures, procedures, and data analysis.
• Collaborate with controls, electrical, and building-design teams.
• Maintain engineering documentation and participate in design reviews.
• Take increasing ownership of subsystems and decisions.
