Job summary

FinStrat Management, Inc. seeks a client-facing Chief Financial Officer to guide FSM and its clients in scaling finance functions, implementing best practices, and delivering strategic financial leadership. The role focuses on governance, reporting, and growth initiatives across multiple engagements.

You will oversee virtual CFO services, drive funding efforts, optimize processes, and mentor FSM staff to ensure high-quality deliverables and five-star client service.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of financial experience with CFO/VP Finance in SaaS.
• Deep knowledge of software revenue recognition and SaaS metrics.
• Proven track record of scaling processes and infrastructure for growth (organic and inorganic).
• Experience fundraising for growth-stage companies.

Responsibilities

• Manage FSM client engagements as a virtual Chief Financial Officer.
• Provide insight on growth strategy and financial implications of major decisions.
• Implement controls, policies, and systems across clients’ data, budgeting, forecasting and closing.
• Analyze financial results, trends, and variances; present insights with narratives.
• Lead financing, acquisitions, facilities, and partnerships efforts.
• Manage cash, debt facilities, and liquidity for client growth.
• Collaborate with clients’ CRO and sales on contracts and processes.
• Liaise between clients and outside counsel; oversee stock option and benefit plans.
• Direct FSM staff on client engagements and ensure deliverables meet standards.

The Role FinStrat Management (“FSM”) is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a client-facing Chief Financial Officer. This is a great opportunity to build a team, implement best practices, and help scale both our company and our clients.

Responsibilities

• Manage FSM client engagements as a virtual Chief Financial Officer
• Provide insight and recommendations related to clients’ growth strategy, as well as input regarding the financial implications of major business decisions
• Implement controls, frameworks, policies and systems that capture and utilize timely and accurate data across clients’ business, as well as financial planning, budgets, forecasting and closing processes
• Analyze clients’ financial results with respect to profits, trends, cost and compliance with budgets
• Present and provide insight on financial results with a narrative on results, variances to plan, trends, and key metrics
• Provide leadership in the execution of financial transactions, including financing, acquisitions, facilities, and partnerships
• Manage cash utilization, and debt facilitates to maintain a strong foundation of liquidity for clients’ growth
• Collaborate with clients’ CRO and sales team on contracts and contract processes
• Serve as a liaison between clients and their outside legal counsel
• Oversee clients’ stock option, commission, and benefit plans
• Direct and support FSM staff assigned to client engagements
• Ensure deliverables meet FSM’s quality standard
• Provide five-star client service

Job Requirements

• ~10+ years of financial experience with recent experience as CFO or VP of Finance at a growing SaaS or software company
• ~ Solid understanding of software revenue recognition, SaaS metrics, and associated best practices
• ~ Success implementing and optimizing process, procedures, and infrastructure to enable scale and support growth (organic and inorganic)
• ~ Experience in leading fundraising efforts, ideally at a growth stage company
