Job summary

FinStrat Management, Inc. is seeking a client-facing Chief Financial Officer to lead finance for FSM and its growing client base, building a high-performing team and implementing best practices across budgeting, forecasting and controls.

You will provide strategic financial guidance on growth initiatives, manage multiple SaaS engagements as virtual CFOs, and collaborate with clients’ CROs and legal partners to drive liquidity, profitability and compliant operations.

Qualifications

• Requires 10+ years of financial experience with recent CFO or VP of Finance at a growth SaaS/software company.
• Deep knowledge of software revenue recognition, SaaS metrics and related best practices.
• Proven ability to implement scalable finance processes, procedures, and infrastructure.
• Experience leading fundraising efforts at a growth-stage company.

Responsibilities

• Manage FSM client engagements as a virtual Chief Financial Officer
• Provide insight on growth strategy and financial implications of major business decisions
• Implement controls, policies and systems for timely, accurate data, budgeting, forecasting and closing
• Analyze client financial results against profits, trends, costs and budgets
• Present insights on financial results with narrative on variances, trends and key metrics
• Lead execution of financial transactions including financing, acquisitions, facilities and partnerships
• Manage cash and debt to maintain liquidity for clients’ growth
• Collaborate with clients’ CRO and sales for contracts and processes
• Serve as liaison between clients and outside legal counsel
• Oversee stock option, commission and benefit plans
• Direct and support FSM staff on client engagements
• Ensure deliverables meet FSM’s quality standards
• Provide five-star client service

The Role FinStrat Management (“FSM”) is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a client-facing Chief Financial Officer. This is a great opportunity to build a team, implement best practices, and help scale both our company and our clients.

Responsibilities

• Manage FSM client engagements as a virtual Chief Financial Officer
• Provide insight and recommendations related to clients’ growth strategy, as well as input regarding the financial implications of major business decisions
• Implement controls, frameworks, policies and systems that capture and utilize timely and accurate data across clients’ business, as well as financial planning, budgets, forecasting and closing processes
• Analyze clients’ financial results with respect to profits, trends, cost and compliance with budgets
• Present and provide insight on financial results with a narrative on results, variances to plan, trends, and key metrics
• Provide leadership in the execution of financial transactions, including financing, acquisitions, facilities, and partnerships
• Manage cash utilization, and debt facilitates to maintain a strong foundation of liquidity for clients’ growth
• Collaborate with clients’ CRO and sales team on contracts and contract processes
• Serve as a liaison between clients and their outside legal counsel
• Oversee clients’ stock option, commission, and benefit plans
• Direct and support FSM staff assigned to client engagements
• Ensure deliverables meet FSM’s quality standard
• Provide five-star client service

Job Requirements

Professional background

• 10+ years of financial experience with recent experience as CFO or VP of Finance at a growing SaaS or software company
• Solid understanding of software revenue recognition, SaaS metrics, and associated best practices
• Success implementing and optimizing process, procedures, and infrastructure to enable scale and support growth (organic and inorganic)
• Experience in leading fundraising efforts, ideally at a growth stage company
