Job summary

FinStrat Management, Inc. seeks a client-facing Chief Financial Officer to lead financial strategy for FSM clients as their virtual CFO. You will guide growth, implement scalable controls and reporting, and drive profitability across multiple engagements.

The role requires 10+ years in finance with SaaS expertise, plus experience in fundraising and scaling finance infrastructure for growth companies. A dynamic, client-focused leader will thrive in this environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of financial experience with recent CFO/VP Finance experience in a growing SaaS or software company.
• Solid understanding of software revenue recognition, SaaS metrics, and related best practices.
• Experience implementing scalable financial processes, controls and infrastructure to enable growth (organic and inorganic).
• Experience leading fundraising efforts for growth-stage companies, ideally in tech.

Responsibilities

• Serve as virtual CFO for FSM clients, delivering strategic financial leadership.
• Provide growth and financial impact insights for major business decisions.
• Implement and optimize data, budgeting, forecasting, closing, and financial reporting processes.
• Analyze client financial results, trends, and variances; present findings with clear narratives.
• Lead financing activities, acquisitions, facilities, and partnerships; manage liquidity.
• Collaborate with client CRO and sales on contract processes; liaise with legal counsel.
• Oversee stock option, compensation, and benefit plans for clients.
• Direct FSM staff assigned to client engagements and ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Deliver five-star client service and maintain FSM quality standards.

The Role FinStrat Management (“FSM”) is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a client-facing Chief Financial Officer. This is a great opportunity to build a team, implement best practices, and help scale both our company and our clients.

Responsibilities

• Manage FSM client engagements as a virtual Chief Financial Officer
• Provide insight and recommendations related to clients’ growth strategy, as well as input regarding the financial implications of major business decisions
• Implement controls, frameworks, policies and systems that capture and utilize timely and accurate data across clients’ business, as well as financial planning, budgets, forecasting and closing processes
• Analyze clients’ financial results with respect to profits, trends, cost and compliance with budgets
• Present and provide insight on financial results with a narrative on results, variances to plan, trends, and key metrics
• Provide leadership in the execution of financial transactions, including financing, acquisitions, facilities, and partnerships
• Manage cash utilization, and debt facilitates to maintain a strong foundation of liquidity for clients’ growth
• Collaborate with clients’ CRO and sales team on contracts and contract processes
• Serve as a liaison between clients and their outside legal counsel
• Oversee clients’ stock option, commission, and benefit plans
• Direct and support FSM staff assigned to client engagements
• Ensure deliverables meet FSM’s quality standard
• Provide five-star client service

Job Requirements

Professional background

• 10+ years of financial experience with recent experience as CFO or VP of Finance at a growing SaaS or software company
• Solid understanding of software revenue recognition, SaaS metrics, and associated best practices
• Success implementing and optimizing process, procedures, and infrastructure to enable scale and support growth (organic and inorganic)
• Experience in leading fundraising efforts, ideally at a growth stage company
