Job summary

FinStrat Management, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Chief Financial Officer to lead client engagements as a virtual CFO. You will build a team, implement best practices, and help scale both FSM and its SaaS client base.

The role focuses on growth strategy, cash management, fundraising, and financial controls across multiple engagements. You will work directly with clients' CROs and finance teams to optimize profitability and liquidity while maintaining high service quality.

Qualifications

• ~10+ years of financial experience with recent experience as CFO or VP of Finance at a growing SaaS or software company.
• Solid understanding of software revenue recognition, SaaS metrics, and associated best practices.
• Experience leading fundraising efforts at a growth-stage company.
• Ability to implement and optimize processes, procedures, and infrastructure to enable scale and growth.

Responsibilities

• Manage FSM client engagements as a virtual Chief Financial Officer.
• Provide insight on growth strategy and financial implications of major business decisions.
• Implement controls, frameworks, policies and systems for data, planning, budgets, forecasting and closing.
• Analyze client financial results with respect to profits, trends, costs and budgets.
• Present insights with a narrative on results, variances to plan, trends and key metrics.
• Lead execution of financial transactions including financing, acquisitions and partnerships.
• Manage cash utilization and debt facilities for liquidity across client growth.
• Collaborate with clients’ CRO and sales on contracts and processes.
• Liaise between clients and outside legal counsel.

The Role FinStrat Management (“FSM”) is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a client-facing Chief Financial Officer. This is a great opportunity to build a team, implement best practices, and help scale both our company and our clients.

Responsibilities

• Manage FSM client engagements as a virtual Chief Financial Officer
• Provide insight and recommendations related to clients’ growth strategy, as well as input regarding the financial implications of major business decisions
• Implement controls, frameworks, policies and systems that capture and utilize timely and accurate data across clients’ business, as well as financial planning, budgets, forecasting and closing processes
• Analyze clients’ financial results with respect to profits, trends, cost and compliance with budgets
• Present and provide insight on financial results with a narrative on results, variances to plan, trends, and key metrics
• Provide leadership in the execution of financial transactions, including financing, acquisitions, facilities, and partnerships
• Manage cash utilization, and debt facilitates to maintain a strong foundation of liquidity for clients’ growth
• Collaborate with clients’ CRO and sales team on contracts and contract processes
• Serve as a liaison between clients and their outside legal counsel
• Oversee clients’ stock option, commission, and benefit plans
• Direct and support FSM staff assigned to client engagements
• Ensure deliverables meet FSM’s quality standard
• Provide five-star client service

Job Requirements

• ~10+ years of financial experience with recent experience as CFO or VP of Finance at a growing SaaS or software company
• ~ Solid understanding of software revenue recognition, SaaS metrics, and associated best practices
• ~ Success implementing and optimizing process, procedures, and infrastructure to enable scale and support growth (organic and inorganic)
• ~ Experience in leading fundraising efforts, ideally at a growth stage company
