Job summary

FinStrat Management, Inc. is seeking a client-facing Chief Financial Officer to lead virtual CFO engagements for our SaaS client base.

You will drive growth strategies, provide financial insight on major decisions, and implement robust controls and forecasting processes to scale client operations. You will oversee fundraising efforts, optimize revenue recognition, manage liquidity and debt facilities, and collaborate with CROs and sales teams on contract matters.

Qualifications

• ~10+ years of financial experience with CFO/VP of Finance roles in growing SaaS/software companies.
• Strong understanding of software revenue recognition and SaaS metrics.
• Experience scaling processes, procedures and infrastructure to enable growth (organic and inorganic).
• Experience leading fundraising efforts at growth-stage companies.

Responsibilities

• Lead FSM client engagements as a virtual Chief Financial Officer.
• Provide insights on growth strategy and financial implications of major business decisions.
• Implement controls, frameworks, policies, and systems for timely data, budgeting, forecasting and closing processes.
• Analyze client financial results for profits, trends, costs and budget compliance.
• Present insights with narratives on results, variances, trends and key metrics.
• Lead financial transactions including financing, acquisitions, facilities, and partnerships.
• Manage liquidity and debt facilities to support client growth.
• Collaborate with client CROs and sales on contracts and processes.
• Liaise between clients and external legal counsel.
• Oversee stock option, commission and benefit plans for clients.
• Direct and support FSM staff on client engagements.
• Ensure deliverables meet FSM’s quality standards and deliver five-star service.

The Role FinStrat Management (“FSM”) is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a client-facing Chief Financial Officer. This is a great opportunity to build a team, implement best practices, and help scale both our company and our clients.

Responsibilities

• Manage FSM client engagements as a virtual Chief Financial Officer
• Provide insight and recommendations related to clients’ growth strategy, as well as input regarding the financial implications of major business decisions
• Implement controls, frameworks, policies and systems that capture and utilize timely and accurate data across clients’ business, as well as financial planning, budgets, forecasting and closing processes
• Analyze clients’ financial results with respect to profits, trends, cost and compliance with budgets
• Present and provide insight on financial results with a narrative on results, variances to plan, trends, and key metrics
• Provide leadership in the execution of financial transactions, including financing, acquisitions, facilities, and partnerships
• Manage cash utilization, and debt facilitates to maintain a strong foundation of liquidity for clients’ growth
• Collaborate with clients’ CRO and sales team on contracts and contract processes
• Serve as a liaison between clients and their outside legal counsel
• Oversee clients’ stock option, commission, and benefit plans
• Direct and support FSM staff assigned to client engagements
• Ensure deliverables meet FSM’s quality standard
• Provide five-star client service

Job Requirements

• ~10+ years of financial experience with recent experience as CFO or VP of Finance at a growing SaaS or software company
• ~ Solid understanding of software revenue recognition, SaaS metrics, and associated best practices
• ~ Success implementing and optimizing process, procedures, and infrastructure to enable scale and support growth (organic and inorganic)
• ~ Experience in leading fundraising efforts, ideally at a growth stage company
