Job summary

Jewish Family Service of MetroWest NJ is seeking a Chief Development Officer to lead fundraising, board development, and donor relations. The role reports to the CEO and sits on the senior management team. The position drives strategic philanthropy, marketing, and engagement across the agency.

The CDO will oversee budgets, plan annual campaigns including galas, and supervise the development team while collaborating with leadership to advance agency goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public policy, communications, or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred for senior leadership.
• 7–10+ years of senior-level fundraising or nonprofit management experience.
• Exceptional public speaking and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to secure major gifts and build philanthropic programs.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, implement, and evaluate agency development efforts including board leadership development and donor stewardship.
• Lead annual fundraising activities such as direct mail campaigns and galas, with budgeting oversight.
• Develop and manage the Development Department budget and forecast fundraising trends.
• Supervise development staff and collaborate with CEO, CFO, and grant writer on funding needs.
• Represent the agency in the community and maintain donor relations and engagement.
