Job summary

The Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford is seeking a strategic, relationship-driven Senior Vice President & Chief Development Officer to lead its philanthropic enterprise. Reporting to the CEO, the role focuses on growing revenue, deepening donor engagement, and expanding the donor base while modernizing systems with a new CRM.

The ideal candidate will be a seasoned fundraiser, capable of frontline cultivation and collaboration with board leaders, donors, volunteers, and partner organizations.

Qualifications

• Progressively responsible fundraising leadership with a comprehensive program.
• Proven track record of securing major gifts including six-figure commitments.
• Experience leading high-performing fundraising teams across campaigns.
• Broad expertise in annual giving, endowment, planned and legacy giving, and volunteer-driven philanthropy is desirable.
• Strong planning, forecasting, budgeting, and financial management skills.
• Experience leveraging CRM systems, moves management, data, and development operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Development team with clear roles, goals, portfolios, and accountability.
• Foster a collaborative, results-oriented culture with trust and clear communication.
• Set performance metrics, revenue projections, and regular reporting for strategy and decisions.
• Strengthen collaboration across Development, Marketing, Finance, and Technology.
• Personally cultivate, solicit, and steward significant donors and prospects.
