Job summary

The Milwaukee Jewish Federation is seeking a top executive to partner with the CEO and establish the Federation as the center for Jewish philanthropy in Milwaukee. The Chief Development Officer will lead growth in the annual campaign, manage and grow the Foundation, and create opportunities to supplement giving through the Federation.

Reporting to the CEO, the CDO will mentor a development team, collaborate with the Board of Trustees, and drive innovative fundraising strategies to engage

Qualifications

• Senior development experience with demonstrable achievements in management.
• Expertise in strategic and operational resource development planning, including individual and institutional philanthropy.
• Creative, entrepreneurial and strategic inclinations.
• Proven ability to solicit and steward major donors and engage high-net-worth individuals and foundations.
• Experience training and working with executives, staff and board members in development activities.
• Strong work ethic with high ethical and professional standards.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a strategic plan for integrated resource development (annual campaign, planned giving, supplements, foundation support).
• Lead and mentor the development team; ensure gifts are recorded and donors recognized appropriately.
• Engage with the CEO and Board to steward major donors and align fundraising priorities.
• Collaborate with marketing and community leaders to advance fundraising initiatives and messaging.
