Job summary

MERIEUX NUTRISCIENCES in Crete, IL seeks an Operations Manager, Chemistry to provide strategic and operational leadership for food chemistry testing laboratories. You will align laboratory activities with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and client expectations, ensuring scientific integrity and data quality.

You will drive continuous improvement, method standardization, and KPI management while supporting client audits and regulatory inspections. Travel up to 15% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Food Chemistry, Food Science, Biochemistry, or related scientific field required.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in food chemistry laboratory operations, including leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for food chemistry testing laboratories.
• Ensure accurate, efficient, and compliant analytical testing across chemistry disciplines.
• Oversee method validation, verification, and implementation of new analytical technologies.
• Maintain ISO 17025 accreditation and audit readiness.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Food Chemistry, Food Science, Biochemistry, or related scientific field

Master’s degree preferred
