Responsibilities

• Performs, develops and interprets routine and/or specialized laboratory testing independently within established time frames.
• Performs, analyzes and records quality control and instrument maintenance/troubleshooting and takes action to maintain accuracy and precision.
• Escalates when results are out of control and documents corrective actions.
• Adheres to regulatory guidelines and accreditation standards for laboratories; reviews current checklists/standards.
• Follows safety guidelines and proficiency testing protocols; participates in performance improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Adapts communication to patient population, maintains privacy, and ensures proper documentation.
• Performs other duties as assigned and complies with policies and standards.
