Job summary

Ochsner Health System in Baton Rouge, LA is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform, develop, and interpret routine and specialized laboratory tests in support of patient care.

You will ensure quality control, maintain instrumentation, participate in proficiency testing, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver accurate diagnostic data while maintaining patient confidentiality and compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, medical laboratory science, or chemical/biological science.
• Current Clinical Lab Scientist Generalist license or eligibility and must obtain within 90 days of hire.
• ASCP/AMT/AAB generalist certification must be obtained within 90 days if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Performs, develops and interprets routine and specialized laboratory testing independently.
• Maintains quality control and instrument maintenance; documents corrective actions.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory standards and safety guidelines.
