Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific in West Point, PA is seeking a Chemical Management Specialist to manage chemical inventory, ensure labs remain stocked and compliant, and support efficient operations at customer sites.

You will verify inventory levels, handle incoming shipments, read SDS, and collaborate with EHS to maintain safety standards. The role requires strong attention to detail and good communication in a dynamic lab/warehouse setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year of customer-service experience in a laboratory, warehouse, or similar environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, Outlook, Teams).

Responsibilities

• Verify chemical inventory levels, locations, and expiration dates via audits and counts.
• Receive, inspect, label, and store chemical shipments per guidelines and DOT rules.
• Pick and pack chemical orders, maintaining accuracy and proper storage protocols.
• Read and interpret SDS to apply correct handling, storage, and spill-response steps.
• Collaborate with EHS to uphold safety standards and improve workflows.
• May perform other duties as assigned by management.
