Job summary

AT Process Technologies in Waltham, MA is seeking a Lab Operations Specialist to support daily lab operations and inventory. You will manage shipping/receiving, keep stock accurate, and ensure scientists have the materials they need to work efficiently.

This hands-on role requires organization, reliability, and coordination with vendors and internal teams. You will handle hazardous materials packaging in compliance with safety standards and help maintain SDSs and regulatory documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific field or equivalent
• 0-2 years of lab operations experience including shipping/receiving and inventory management
• Knowledge of lab safety practices and chemical handling
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Proficiency with email, spreadsheets, and inventory software
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand or walk for extended periods

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, log, and distribute incoming shipments, including temperature-sensitive and hazardous materials
• Prepare and package outgoing shipments in line with carrier and regulatory requirements
• Coordinate with vendors and couriers to track orders and resolve delivery issues
• Maintain accurate inventory of lab supplies and reagents using internal database and Quartzy
• Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) for all chemicals
• Monitor stock levels, place reorders, and flag shortages or expiring materials
• Restock lab benches and common areas
• Assist with waste disposal and general lab housekeeping
• Schedule annual recertification of laboratory equipment and ensure safety documentation
