Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific in Durham, NC is seeking an on-site materials/customer service specialist to manage on-site replenishments, order processing, and warehouse operations. You will perform inventory control, receive and dispatch items, and support lab service delivery at customer sites.

The role requires a high school diploma and about 2 years in a lab setting or customer service; strong English communication and computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years of related experience in a laboratory setting preferred; customer service experience is a plus.
• Must be fluent in reading/writing/speaking English; strong communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; able to use scanners and enter data in multiple systems.

Responsibilities

• Use inventory/order management electronic systems for on-site replenishments, disbursements, receiving, put-away, stock rotation, cycle counts, order entry and expediting, customer service call resolution, product returns, and backorder processing.
• Perform laboratory services such as order delivery, glassware processing, biological waste processing, chemical inventory receipt/reconciliation, and media preparation
• Analyze/maintain/reconcile reports to ensure contractual requirements are met
• Proactively communicate with supervisor on customer concerns and address issues within resolution timeframes
• Participate in safety programs including hazard identification, inspections, and incident reporting/investigation
• Engage in process improvement activities
• May perform other responsibilities as assigned by management
