Job summary

Dig Inn in Ashburn, VA is seeking an entry-level CHEF-IN-TRAINING to join our scratch-based kitchen. You will learn by doing, rotate through garde manger, grill, market line, and guest concierge, and help create delicious, scratch-made meals.

This role emphasizes teamwork, positive attitude, and a desire to grow into leadership. Competitive pay ($16-$18/hour) plus $2-3/hour in tips, flexible scheduling, and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• A passion for real, good food and a desire to learn culinary practices and skills.
• The ability to perform physical requirements (lifting up to 25 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds).
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Prep, mix, and cook vegetables, proteins, grains using recipes as a guide and taste for validation.
• Gain exposure to different stations within the DIG kitchen including garde manger, grill, roast, market line, guest concierge and delivery/packout.
• Speak to guests about menu offerings, seasonality, and ingredients to create a delicious scratch-made meal.
• Support the team during peak and off-peak service by pitching in wherever needed.
• Maintain food safety standards and uphold DIG’s anti-discrimination policies.
