Job summary

Bethesda Senior Living Communities is seeking a Chef/Cook for a full-time role in Springfield, MO. You will oversee meal preparation, ensure nutritious, tasty, and well-presented meals for residents, and support menu planning tailored to geriatric dietary needs.

The position requires evenings/weekends, High School education, and culinary skills with health certifications as applicable. Competitive benefits and a wage range are offered.

Qualifications

• Must read, comprehend, and follow recipes and procedures.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Culinary training preferred.
• Health certification as required by local/state/federal health departments.

Responsibilities

• Cooks meals according to established recipes and menus.
• Assists Culinary Services Director in creating menus meeting residents' nutritional needs and preferences.
• Presents meals that are visually appealing and flavorful.
• Sets up kitchen and preps daily menus; preps for next day.
• Maintains sanitary kitchen guidelines and orderly storeroom, coolers, and equipment.
• Maintains proper temperatures of steam table, dishwasher, fridge and freezer.
• Plans and cooks special meals as required.
• Ensures adequate daily dining room coverage and assists with dining room setup between mealtimes.
