Job summary

The Gardens at Springfield is seeking a full-time Chef/Cook to serve residents with nutritious, tasty meals in a warm kitchen environment. Evening and weekend shifts are required, with a focus on professional presentation and resident satisfaction.

Responsibilities include following recipes, assisting with geriatric menus, maintaining sanitary standards, and supporting a respectful dining experience for residents and families. High school diploma needed; culinary training preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of menu planning for geriatric residents.
• Excellent cooking and baking skills.
• Knowledge of diabetic, low fat, salt-free diets.
• Ability to read and follow recipes and procedures.
• Must be able to lift 20 lb and occasionally 50 lb.

Responsibilities

• Cooks meals following established recipes and menus.
• Preps and sets up kitchen for each day’s service.
• Maintains sanitary guidelines and proper temperatures.
• Assists in menu planning to meet residents’ nutritional needs.
• Supports dining room setup and resident meal service.
