Job summary

Sodexo at Shrewsbury School in Shrewsbury, UK is seeking a Chef De Partie to lead kitchen operations and deliver high-quality meals for around 2200 pupils and staff.

You will work with the head chef to plan menus, supervise junior cooks, ensure food safety, and maintain consistent presentation while managing time and budgets. Shifts are 5 days a week with 7am-3pm or 12pm-8pm, with weekends off.

Qualifications

• Experience cooking on a large scale.
• Experience following recipes in a professional kitchen.
• Prior staff supervision or line management experience.
• Strong knowledge of fresh produce and ingredient preparation.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations and the ability to enforce them.
• Positive leadership, professionalism, and a passion for food.

Responsibilities

• Produce and present food to the required times and standards.
• Assist the team in prompt preparation and service within budget.
• Plan menus with the head chef and oversee prep, service and cleaning.
• Maintain freshness, flavour and presentation of dishes.
• Mentor and train kitchen staff to foster a productive team culture.
• Manage catering operation costs including labour, food and stock.
