Sodexo Ltd in Shrewsbury School, Shropshire, is hiring a Chef De Partie to lead a busy kitchen and deliver high quality meals for 2,200 pupils and staff across 3 meals daily. The role offers a competitive hourly rate and a 5-days-a-week pattern (7am-3pm or 12pm-8pm).

Qualifications

• Experience cooking on a large scale and following standard recipes.
• Proven track record supervising or line managing staff.
• Strong knowledge of fresh produce and ingredient prep.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations and enforcement.
• Ability to work under pressure in a busy kitchen environment.
• Commitment to food quality and service standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present food to required times and standards.
• Assist craft team with prompt meal prep and client satisfaction within budget.
• Plan menus with manager and head chef; order food and oversee prep, service and cleaning.
• Replenish food and equipment; ensure freshness, flavour and presentation.
• Develop, mentor and train kitchen staff to foster a positive team culture.
• Manage labour, food and stock costs across catering operations.
• Complete administration on food temps, cleaning schedules and stock takes.
• Support succession planning for team members.
• Raise issues to Head Chef and Manager promptly.
• Maintain consistent food quality and hygiene for staff and clients.
• Lead menu development to keep offerings fresh.
• Conduct audits to ensure food safety compliance.
