Job summary

Roper St. Francis Healthcare is seeking a licensed Surgical Technologist to support the obstetrics perioperative team. The role focuses on preparing sterile instruments, maintaining a sterile field, and responding to the needs of the surgical team during procedures.

Qualified candidates will hold an accredited Surgical Technology credential and meet licensure requirements. Shift includes weekend work with daytime hours; benefits and on-site support are provided.

Qualifications

• Must be certified CST, NBSTSA, TS-C or NCCT.
• NBSTSA certification required in South Carolina.
• BLS Basic Life Support required at hire for Roper St Francis locations.

Responsibilities

• Functions as the scrub person and assists during operative and invasive procedures by assembling supplies and equipment.
• Prepares sterile supplies and instruments and performs surgical counts with the circulating RN.
• Maintains an organized sterile field and aseptic technique; assists with drapes and provides instruments during procedures.
• Retrieves and collects specimens and labels them correctly.
• Reports implanted devices, catheters, drains, and packing to the circulator.
