Job summary

St. Elizabeth's Medical Center is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join the Operating Room team. The role involves scrubbing in on general OR cases, handling instrumentation, and assisting on turnover and room prep to support safe, efficient patient care.

The position requires completion of an accredited surgical technology program and 1–2 years of acute care experience, with appropriate certifications as required. The schedule is 36 hours per week in a fast-paced surgical setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited surgical technology program.
• 1-2 years of experience as a Surgical Technician in an acute care setting.
• ARC/STSA- or NBSTSA-certified or MA certification requirement (as applicable).

Responsibilities

• Scrub duties per procedure with aseptic technique.
• Assist in turnover of rooms and prep OR for patients.
• Maintain accurate counts of sponges, needles and instruments before/during/after procedures.
• Collaborate with surgical team to ensure efficient, high-quality patient care.
• Participate in staff meetings and in-service presentations.
