Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking a Certified Operating Room Technician to prepare sterile supplies and instruments, maintain the sterile field, and assist the surgeon during procedures. The role requires ensuring sterile technique and timely delivery of instruments throughout the operation.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, ORT training or 3+ years in a surgical setting, CST certification, and a current BLS card.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires effective April 2014.
• Graduate of an ORT training program or on the job training with a minimum of 3 years’ experience (surgical setting preferred).
• Current Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist.
• Experience in scrubbing minor and major procedures in generalized surgical specialties (e.g., GYN, General, Plastics).
• Experience in scrubbing at least minor procedures in specialty surgical areas (ortho, neuro, ENT, Uro, etc.).
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.

Responsibilities

• The Certified Operating Room Tech is responsible for the preparation of sterile supplies and instruments for each assigned procedure, maintaining sterile field during case and providing surgeon with sterile supplies and instruments during assigned procedures.
