Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for St. Francis Eastside. The role supports the surgical team by preparing sterile instruments, supplies and equipment for procedures, while maintaining aseptic techniques and assisting in pre/post operative tasks.

Required education includes an Associate Degree or equivalent in Surgical Technology, with CST/NBSTA/TS-C certification; VA CST reciprocity if living in VA. One year of perioperative experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree, Vocational Certification, or Military Certificate in Surgical Technology (required).
• Must be certified by one of CST, NBSTA or TS-C (TS-C not accepted for Surgical Tech jobs in Cincinnati).
• Registered CST with the Virginia Board of Medicine required if currently reside in Virginia.

Responsibilities

• Provides instruments and supplies to the surgical team during the procedure and maintains aseptic technique.
• Prepares, maintains, and organizes sterile supplies and instruments for the procedure.
• Provides complete case preparation with the ability to adapt to special instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Assists with pre and post procedure cleaning of the operative room and instruments.
• Prepares and performs surgical skin prep and clipping as indicated by procedure.
