Job summary

Jefferson Health Plans is seeking a Certified Surgical Technician (CST) to support the intraoperative team. The role focuses on maintaining the sterile field, anticipating surgeon needs, and collaborating with the perioperative staff to ensure high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities include assisting with gowning/gloving, preparing the sterile environment, and contributing to patient safety during procedures. Precepting duties may be required as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a surgical technician training program.
• Prior surgical technician experience preferred.
• Knowledge of patient-centered care and teamwork in a diverse environment.
• Understanding of sterile technique and operating room procedures.
• Familiarity with safety policies and perioperative processes.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and staff per Jefferson values.
• Secure and prepare the OR equipment and supplies for procedures.
• Participate in time-out and promote patient safety in the perioperative setting.
• Assist with gowning and gloving of the surgical team.
• Maintain sterile field and report on instrument status to relief personnel.
