Job summary

Houston Methodist Primary Care Group seeks a Senior Medical Assistant Certified (Sr. MA) to support physicians and nurses in advanced examinations and treatments. This role includes scheduling, ensuring medical necessity, and serving as a preceptor/clinical resource for Medical Assistants.

The candidate will assist with examinations, procedures, and coding compliance while maintaining patient-centered care and high standards of privacy under CLIA, HIPAA, and related policies.

Qualifications

• Five years medical assistant experience with highly complex, chronic disease management or in a specialty discipline.
• Must be Certified Medical Assistant through AAMA, NAHP, NCCT. NHA or Registered Medical Assistant or EMT; BLS
• Demonstrates the skills and competencies necessary to safely perform the assigned job, with accuracy and patient focus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient examinations, procedures, diagnostic studies, treatment, and dressing changes.
• Schedule patient appointments and verify eligibility for care.
• Provide clinical resource support and precept others as appropriate.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure quality assurance in documentation.
