Job summary

Advocare LLC, a physician-owned partnership of pediatricians, family practitioners, and specialists in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware, seeks a Certified Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The CMA provides direct patient care and supports providers through clinical and administrative duties, including exams, histories, vital signs, and EMR documentation.

  • High school diploma or equivalent; CMA certification/registration.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical or medical office setting.
  • Strong communication and patient-centered approach.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain and record patient histories and vital signs.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and assist during exams and procedures.
  • Perform point-of-care testing, specimen collection, and lab prep.
  • Maintain accurate electronic health records and documentation.
  • Handle administrative duties: scheduling, insurance verification, referrals.
  • Maintain medical supply inventory and equipment upkeep.
  • Prepare and disinfect examination and treatment rooms.
  • Provide patient education and transmit physician instructions.
  • Support HIPAA, OSHA and healthcare regulations compliance.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses and staff for seamless care.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The CMA is responsible for providing high-quality, direct patient care and supporting healthcare providers through a combination of clinical and administrative responsibilities. This role requires proficiency in routine clinical procedures, strong communication skills, and a compassionate, patient-centered approach for individuals.

As a Certified Medical Assistant, you’ll be an integral member of a forward-thinking clinical team dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care and service in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Certified Medical Assistant Essential Responsibilities:

  • Obtain and record patient medical histories and vital signs
  • Prepare patients for examination and assist during exams and procedures
  • Perform point-of-care testing, specimen collection, and lab preparation
  • Maintain accurate electronic health records and complete documentation
  • Handle administrative duties such as answering phones, verifying insurance, scheduling, and processing referrals
  • Maintain medical supply inventory and perform equipment upkeep
  • Prepare and disinfect examination and treatment rooms
  • Provide patient education and transmit physician instructions
  • Support compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and all healthcare regulations
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient care
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Certified Medical Assistant Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of medical procedures, terminology, and administrative functions

Certified Medical Assistant Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certification or Registration as a Medical Assistant
