The CMA is responsible for providing high-quality, direct patient care and supporting healthcare providers through a combination of clinical and administrative responsibilities. Certified Medical Assistant Essential Responsibilities

• Obtain and record patient medical histories and vital signs
• Prepare patients for examination and assist during exams and procedures
• Perform point-of-care testing, specimen collection, and lab preparation
• Maintain accurate electronic health records and complete documentation
• Handle administrative duties such as answering phones, verifying insurance, scheduling, and processing referrals
• Maintain medical supply inventory and perform equipment upkeep
• Prepare and disinfect examination and treatment rooms
• Provide patient education and transmit physician instructions
• Support compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and all healthcare regulations
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient care
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned
