Job summary

Synchrony is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant in Muncie, IN to work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist. The OTA will implement treatment plans, assist with ADL training, and help patients progress toward functional independence.

Responsibilities include documenting patient responses, educating families on home exercises, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care. Licensure in OTA and CPR (preferred) are required or ongoing.

Qualifications

• Education: Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
• Experience: 0-1 years.
• Licenses: Must have and maintain a current OTA licensure or certification, CPR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in carrying out treatment plans developed by occupational therapists, including therapeutic exercises, ADL training, and other interventions.
• Help patients with exercises, activities, and adaptive techniques to improve function and independence.
• Observe and maintain up-to-date documentation of patients’ responses, progress, and report findings to the supervising OT.
• Provide education and guidance to patients and families on home exercises and adaptive techniques.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Support OTs in evaluating patient needs and progress with additional observations.
• Other duties as assigned.
