Job summary

Roscoe Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join the rehabilitation team on a part-time, on-site basis in Roscoe, NY. You will work under an Occupational Therapist to deliver interventions that help residents improve function and maintain independence.

The role requires an AAS in Occupational Therapy Assistant and NY COTA licensure. Prior SNF experience is preferred, with opportunities to grow professionally in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Associate of Applied Science Degree from an Occupational Therapy Assistant program approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association.
• New York State COTA license required.

Responsibilities

• Implement occupational therapy treatment programs under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
• Assist with resident assessments and contribute to treatment planning within the COTA scope of practice.
• Provide therapeutic interventions focused on improving functional abilities, ADLs, mobility, strength, and independence.
• Monitor resident progress and communicate findings to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
• Complete documentation, care plans, billing, and clinical records accurately and timely.
• Educate residents, families, and staff on therapy techniques, adaptive equipment, and home exercise programs.
• Train and support rehabilitation aides as assigned.
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, discharge planning, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Ensure residents receive prescribed therapy services and treatment minutes.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Valid New York State Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) License required
• Newly licensed COTAs welcome to apply
• Skilled nursing facility experience preferred
• Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with residents, families, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members
