Job summary

Otterbein Tipp City is seeking skilled Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA/STNA) to join our caring team. You will assist residents with daily activities, document care, and work under nurse supervision while upholding safety and residents’ rights.

We welcome State Tested and Nurse Registry CNAs, with preferred Ohio certification. Hospitality, teamwork, and compassionate care are valued in our welcoming communities.

Qualifications

• Must be certified as a CNA/STNA in Ohio and listed on the Nurse Aide Registry.
• Complete an approved nurse aide training program and pass the state test.
• Good communication skills and ability to read/write clearly.
• Ability to read and follow oral and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with hygiene, feeding, dressing, ambulating and transferring.
• Perform nursing procedures under supervision and safety guidelines.
• Accurately document care provided and report changes promptly.
• Maintain safety and infection control policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with health-care team and residents’ families.
• Participate in in-service programs and uphold Residents’ Bill of Rights.

Job Types: Full-time Night Shift (6p-6a) every other weekend

Responsibilities:

• Assisting residents in preventative, therapeutic, and restorative nursing procedures; adhering to safety and infection control policies and procedures.
• Assisting with personal hygiene, feeding, dressing, ambulating and transferring residents.
• Completing all required documentation; reporting defective equipment or other potential safety hazards.
• Working with residents, families, members of the health care team and other employees in a pleasant, respectful and cooperative manner.
• Attending all in-service programs as required by facility and state/federal guidelines.
• Respecting and maintaining resident’s dignity, privacy and confidentiality according to Residents Bill of Rights.
• Performing other duties as assigned, such as, soiled linen disposal.
• Provide a wide range of support services under the supervision of a nurse.
• Help our residents feel comfortable and as independent as possible while they live their daily lives.
• Provide accurate, efficient and timely care documentation.
• Perform other duties as needs arise and/or assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma/GED is preferred.
• Satisfactory completion of an approved nurse aide training program, testing and certified as required by the State of Ohio. Applicants must pass the state test and be listed on the Nurse Aide Registry.
• Certification: Certified Nursing Assistant - CNA/STNA certification required in the State of Ohio. Applicants must have passed the state test and be listed on the Nurse Aide Registry. If you have not tested and will not be state tested within 60 days of starting, please apply for a Resident/Household Aide.
• Must be in good standing with the Nurse Aide Registry.
• Must have good communication skills and ability to read, write and follow oral & written instructions.
• Good documentation, communication and interpersonal skills; must be able to use proper lift technique and lift equipment to move, lift and transfer residents.
