Job summary

The Medication Assistant (MA) serves as a caregiver who provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a charge nurse. They administer medications as delegated and document care outcomes, changes in condition, and dietary notes.

The role may involve assisting with meals, transfers, housekeeping, and participating in wellness programs. Shifts vary with 8, 10 or 12 hour options and a shift differential for evenings, nights and

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred.
• Must be capable of providing resident-centered nursing care under supervision.
• Knowledge of documenting care and vital signs.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance.
• Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse.
• Document outcomes related to resident care and medication administration.
• Assist with meals, bathing, grooming and transfers as needed.
• Provide housekeeping and laundry services to keep living areas clean.
• Support wellness and recreational programs for residents.
