Job summary

The Medication Assistant (MA) at Good Samaritan provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a charge nurse. Duties include helping with daily activities, documenting care, and ensuring a positive dining experience for residents.

Administers prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse, records outcomes, and communicates changes in condition. May assist with transfers, hygiene, and wellness activities as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age 18.
• Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• Must complete state-specific competency training and continuing education.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under supervision.
• Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse.
• Document outcomes related to resident care, medication administration, and dietary.
• Communicate changes in condition to the charge nurse.
• Assist with transfers, range of motion, and activities of daily living.
