Job summary

Good Samaritan, a not-for-profit organization with a century of housing and services for seniors, seeks a Medication Assistant (MA) to deliver resident-centered nursing care under supervision. You will assist with daily living activities, medication administration, vital signs, and documentation, while supporting wellness programs and social activities.

The MA role involves transfers, ROM exercises, meal assistance, and collaborating with licensed staff.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum of 18 years of age.
• Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• Annual continuing education and competency testing required.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance.
• Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse.
• Document outcomes related to resident care, medication administration, and daily activities.
• Communicate changes in condition and care-related concerns to the charge nurse.
• Assist with transfers, positioning, and mobility using proper techniques.
• Assist with meals, grooming, and dining to ensure a positive dining experience.
