Qualifications

• Must have a current, valid CNA certification in good standing.
• Must have current Medication Aide certification in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Verify identity of resident receiving medication and record name of drug, dosage and time of administration on specified forms or records.
• Present medication to resident and observe ingestion or other application or administers medication using specified procedures.
• Take vital signs or observe residents to detect response to specified types of medications and prepares report or notifies designated personnel of unexpected reactions.
• Take and records temperatures, blood pressure, pulse and respiration rates and food and fluid intake and output as directed.
• Answers signal lights, bells or intercom system to determine resident needs.
• Other duties as assigned.
