Ascension is hiring a Medical Assistant for Ascension St. Vincent's Health Center Town Center in Jacksonville, FL. You will prepare patients for examinations, assist physicians, and handle essential clerical duties while maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or 1 year of applicable job-specific experience.
• BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire; AHA or Red Cross accepted.
• Preferred CMA credential or equivalent certification is a plus.

• Prepare patients for examination and assist the physician with medical procedures and treatments.
• Record patient vital signs, medical histories, and other information in patient charts.
• Manage clinical logistics, including preparing treatment rooms and maintaining supplies and equipment.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

• Preferred Credential(s):
• Certified Medical Assistant credentialed from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA). Nat'l Medical Assistant (MA) Certification - CMA (Cert. Medical Assistant), RMA (Registered Medical Assistant)/AAMA Cert. (American Association of Medical Assistants). NCCT, AAMA, or AMT are acceptable certification sites. Completion of Basic Machine Operators (BMO) cert. preferred. Current registration with State of FL as a BMO Operator preferred.
• Medical Assistant.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. *Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
