Job summary

WellMed, part of Optum, is hiring Certified Medical Assistants to support clinical teams in patient care. You will assist physicians, perform routine procedures, and maintain accurate documentation in the medical record. A focus on patient service and infection control is required.

Requires current CMA certification or ability to obtain within 180 days, BLS, and strong computer skills. This position offers a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current, nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification or the ability to obtain the certification within 180 days of employment.
• Current BLS certification for healthcare providers at time of hire or within 30 days of hire.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Basic computer literacy with intermediate Excel skills.
• Proven ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Proven good communication and customer service skills.
• Tuberculosis screening and immunity requirements with documentation.

Responsibilities

• Organizes the clinical environment and provides support in patient care situations.
• Assists physicians and nursing personnel with listed procedures and other duties under supervision.
• Records patient care documentation accurately in the medical record.
• Coordinates patient care as directed by physicians and policies.
• Respects patient confidentiality and maintains professional conduct.
• Organizes exam and treatment rooms, stocks and cleans rooms, and sterilizes instruments.
• Performs standard infection control precautions.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
