UNC Health Care in Lenoir, NC is seeking a Medical Assistant I, Certified to provide routine clinical and administrative support in an outpatient clinic. You will work under clinical supervision to assist providers and the health care team, performing rooming, data collection, vitals, med history reviews, and phlebotomy.

Responsibilities include assisting with procedures, specimen collection, EMR documentation, patient education, and coordinating registrations and referrals.

Qualifikationen

• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Proficient in documenting patient information in the EMR.
• Clinical support under supervision with providers and staff.

Aufgaben

• Room patients and perform intake including vital signs.
• Gather medical and social history and review meds/allergies.
• Assist provider during treatments and procedures.
• Collect specimens and perform phlebotomy.
• Administer medications under provider direction.
• Run tests such as EKG and eye exams.
• Review records for routine health screenings.
• Ensure exam rooms are stocked and ready.
• Assist with registration, scheduling, referrals, and phone inquiries.
• Provide after-visit instructions and patient education.
• Sterilize instruments and maintain equipment.
• Respond to emergencies under supervision.
