Job summary

UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill is seeking a Medical Assistant I, Certified to provide routine clinical and administrative support in an outpatient clinic. You will work under clinician supervision for patient care and under a manager for non-clinical duties.

Responsibilities include rooming patients, collecting data, assisting with procedures, phlebotomy, medication administration, and keeping exam rooms stocked and ready. 40-hour work week with onsite schedules.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assisting program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES is strongly preferred.
• Certification as Medical Assistant is required by the listed agencies.
• Basic Life Support certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and collect vital signs and data for visits.
• Assist providers during treatments and procedures.
• Perform phlebotomy and collect specimens.
• Administer medications under supervision.
• Prepare and maintain exam rooms and sterilize instruments.
• Assist with registrations, scheduling, and referrals.
