Job summary

UNC Health in Lenoir, NC is seeking a Medical Assistant I, Certified to provide routine clinical and administrative support in an outpatient clinic.

You will room and intake patients, measure vitals, collect medical and social histories, and assist providers during examinations and procedures. The role involves phlebotomy, basic tests, and accurate EMR documentation in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assisting program is strongly preferred but not required.
• MA certification from AAMA, AMT, CCMA, NRCMA, or NCMA is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Rooming and intake, collecting vitals and visit data.
• Collecting medical/social history and reviewing meds/allergies.
• Assisting provider during treatments and procedures.
• Phlebotomy and specimen collection.
• Administering medications under supervision.
• Performing tests such as EKG and eye exams as directed.
• Managing supplies and preparing exam rooms.
• Assisting with patient registration, scheduling, and referrals.
• Maintaining documentation in the EMR and patient records.
