Job summary

UNC Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant I for an outpatient clinic in Raleigh, NC. You will provide routine clinical and administrative support under supervision, ensuring patient care and smooth clinic operations. The role offers a clinical path within UNC Health Medical Group.

Qualified candidates may have a MA certification, BLS, and a preferred but not mandatory completion of an accredited Medical Assisting program. Onsite, full-time, 40 hours per week, with a daytime schedule.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assisting program is preferred but not required.
• Certification as a Medical Assistant (AAMA/AMT/CCMA/NCMA/NHCT) is required.
• Basic Life Support Certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs rooming and intake, collects vital signs and visit data.
• Collects patient history and social/medical data.
• Reviews med list, allergies, and preferred pharmacy.
• Assists provider during treatments and exams.
• Administers meds under supervision.
• Prepares and cleans exam rooms; maintains supplies.
• Assist with registration, scheduling, and referrals.
• Answer clinic calls and support in-basket as needed.
• Participate in emergencies as directed.
